In 1960, Peggy embarked on the journey of marriage, exchanging vows with Ted Smith in Nevada. Although their paths diverged, Peggy found love once again when she married George A. Winters on August 7, 1968, in Idaho.

Peggy’s journey began on August 15, 1940, in Spokane, Washington, where she was born to George K. Monson and Loucille Smuin Monson. Despite the early loss of her mother at the tender age of four, Peggy was blessed with the love and care of her step-mother, Louana Oakey Monson. Growing up, Peggy’s resilience and strength became evident, shaping the woman she would later become. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories, love, and companionship, weathering life’s ups and downs hand in hand.

A Career of Dedication

Throughout her life, Peggy dedicated herself to hard work and service. She spent many years in the grocery industry, honing her skills as a meat cutter at Buttery Food & Drug for 22 years. Even in retirement, Peggy continued to serve her community, working in the lunchroom at Taylorview Junior High for ten years. Her warm smile and compassionate nature brightened the days of countless students and staff members, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
