John Williams Obituary, In Loving Memory of John Williams

John Williams, a beloved figure born on June 12, 1964, in Evansville, Indiana, bid farewell to this world on February 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and community that touched the lives of many.

A Lifetime of Love: Family Ties and Unwavering Commitment

Survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Janis Williams, John was the proud father of Janie Tifft and cherished son-in-law Chris, along with his two adored grandchildren, Blake and Brady. His family was his anchor, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. His parents, Jim and Gail Williams, and his brothers, Mike and Mark, were all integral parts of the tight-knit family that supported one another through thick and thin.

Born in Evansville, John’s journey led him to Louisville, Kentucky, where he spent his formative years before relocating to Jacksonville in 1981. It was in Jacksonville that he found the love of his life, Janis, and together they embarked on a journey that would define their lives.

A Journey to Orlando: Building a Home and a Community

The Williams family moved to Orlando in 1998, creating a haven for themselves and building lasting connections with a circle of loving friends. John’s commitment to his faith was evident through his longtime membership at Northland Church, where he not only served as a former elder but also dedicated much of his time as a leader in Celebrate Recovery. His active involvement in Forge, a men’s ministry, showcased his commitment to nurturing spiritual growth in the community.

Professional Endeavors: A Marked Career in Marketing and Beyond

John’s professional journey was marked by success and fulfillment. Starting in various marketing executive roles, he traversed through different positions, leaving a mark at companies like Pepsi and The Hamilton Collection. His corporate career culminated with a role at Sears Home Improvements, demonstrating his versatility and leadership.

Leaving the corporate world, John and Janis ventured into real estate together. The couple not only worked together in this new chapter of their lives but also found joy in designing and building several homes. In 2020, they realized a long-held dream by purchasing and renovating their dream home in New Smyrna Beach, a place that held sentimental value from their dating years in college.

A Life Devoted to Faith: Spreading the Light of the LORD

John’s unwavering faith was the guiding force in his life. He was not just a believer; he was a doer. His involvement in Celebrate Recovery and Forge showcased his dedication to helping others navigate their spiritual journeys. He had a unique ability to make everyone he encountered feel like a friend by the time they parted ways. His love for people and his community extended beyond the walls of the church, as he reached out to members of society, helping them discover the path to the LORD.

Retirement and Family: Embracing Life’s Blessings

Retiring early, John prioritized spending time with his two grandchildren, Blake and Brady. He cherished these moments, recognizing the significance of family bonds and the joy that grandchildren brought into his life. Though he departed this world too soon, the light he radiated through his relationships will endure, creating ripples of love and kindness that will continue to touch the lives of those he touched.
