Anthony “Tony” Pastore, age 90 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family. Tony was born on June 24, 1932, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of seven children of Daniel and Rose (Gentile) Pastore. Tony, a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, lived a life guided by faith and dedicated to his community. His commitment to his church and his fellow parishioners was unwavering, and he found solace and strength in his spiritual beliefs.

A Passion for Golf and Service

An avid golfer, Tony found joy and relaxation on the golf course, where he could often be found perfecting his swing and enjoying the company of friends. His love for the game extended beyond mere recreation; it was a source of camaraderie and connection with others. During the Korean War, Tony proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy. His service was marked by bravery, dedication, and a deep sense of patriotism. His sacrifices and contributions to his country were a testament to his commitment to defending freedom and upholding the values of democracy.

In his working career, Tony was employed by the PICCO / Hercules company in Jefferson Hills. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, their four children, Mark (MaryBeth) Pastore of Jefferson Hills, Jay Pastore of Sarasota, Florida, Donna Bonavia of Washington, DC, and Paula (John) Peterson of St. Petersburg, Florida; two grandsons, Vincent Bonavia and Daniel Pastore, and three siblings: brothers Carl (Patty) Pastore and Richard (the late Jackie) Pastore, and sister Madaline (Joseph) Nistico. Their love and support provided Tony with comfort and strength throughout his life, and their memories will continue to be a source of solace in the days ahead.
