Kennedy during a visit to the base. In 1978, Paul began his tenure with Nationwide Insurance, marking the beginning of a distinguished 26-year career with the company. In those early years of earning straight commissions selling insurance, the Hescht family relied on hot dogs and bologna sandwiches to make ends meet. However, Paul’s resilience and dedication soon bore fruit, as he consistently excelled in his role, earning several top sales awards and even winning trips to coveted destinations such as Atlantic City, Seattle, and Las Vegas.
