Gertrude E. Schroeder Obituary, Beloved Of Greenville, Ohio Has Sadly Passed Away – Death

A beloved resident known for her warmth, devotion, and enthusiasm for life, Gertrude Ella Schroeder passed away suddenly on February 17, 2024, leaving the Greenville community in Ohio in mourning. Gertrude was born on August 23, 1954, in Anderson, Indiana. This expanded tribute celebrates her journey by reflecting on her family, career, and the unique interests that created her rich and fulfilling life.

Early Life and Family

The daughter of Kenneth and Anna May (Vance) Schroeder, Gertrude Ella was born in Anderson, Indiana. The principles that would influence her life, such as a devotion to family, a strong work ethic, and volunteerism, were established during her childhood. The closeness of Gertrude’s family was felt by her three siblings: Joseph (Melissa) Schroeder, Kenneth Schroeder, and Audrey (Bill) Inholt.

Professional Dedication

Gertrude worked as the head cook for Greenville’s Head Start programme for an impressive 25 years. She cared deeply about the health of the children in her community, and she played an important part in that by ensuring they had access to nutritious food. The importance of education and caring for the younger generation was reflected in Gertrude’s dedication to Head Start.

Passions and Interests

In addition to her successful career, Gertrude found fulfilment in pursuing a wide variety of interests. She loved to keep in touch with friends and family online through Facebook, being a tech-savvy person. A drink of Jack and Water would frequently accompany her moments of leisure, a reflection of her love for the little things in life. She treasured music because it provided a backdrop to the experiences of her life.

One whimsical aspect of Gertrude’s personality was her collection of dragons and wizards, which made her famous. She was just as enthralled with motorcycles as she was with anything else, but especially Harley Davidsons. Gertrude, who loved riding motorcycles, enjoyed the freedom and companionship that riding provided.

Community Involvement

Even outside of her work responsibilities, Gertrude was deeply committed to the community. For a long time, she gave her time and energy to help guide the development of local girls as a Girl Scout leader. Her work demonstrated her dedication to leaving a legacy of good deeds and memorable experiences for future generations.

Love for Family

Gertrude was defined by her love for her family above all else. Emmett Wright, Shannon (Amani) Cunningham, Jason Yost, Jr., and Alica (Shawn) Wright, her children and Joellen (Jason, Sr.) Yost’s grandchildren, occupied her entire being. Her joy in her family’s presence was a reflection of the immense value she placed on every moment spent with them.

Celebration of Life

Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM will be the time and place of a Celebration of Gertrude’s life at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects and celebrate a life that was truly lived. There will be a burial at Gettysburg Cemetery afterwards.
To show their appreciation for the community’s support during this difficult time, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help cover final expenses, rather than flowers.

Conclusion: A Legacy of Warmth and Resilience

The people of Greenville reflect on the life of Gertrude E. Schroeder, who touched many, as they remember her. Those who were lucky enough to know and love her will always remember her for the legacy she left behind, which was shaped by her kindness, devotion, and eccentric hobbies.

As they gather to honour her life, the community pays tribute to a woman whose joy in simple pleasures, dedication to community, and love for family left an unforgettable impression on everyone who had the privilege of sharing in her journey. God grant Gertrude eternal peace, and may the memories she left behind serve as a source of strength and encouragement for all who remember her.
