In the year 2024, on Monday, February 11, Roy Allen Raab, who was affectionately referred to as Allen, departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy that was filled with love, versatility, and warmth. Allen was born on September 22, 1970, in the tight-knit community of Freer, Texas, to parents Howard Raab and Linda “Susie” Howard. Allen’s journey through life was marked by his diverse skills and a deep connection to his roots.
Early Years and Education in Texas
Schools in Ben Bolt, Freer, and Bandera were Allen’s educational institutions of choice during his formative years, which took place in the heart of Texas. In the end, he received his diploma from Bandera High School in 1988, thereby laying the groundwork for a life that would be characterized by adaptability and a willingness to embrace a variety of trades.
A Multifaceted Professional Journey
Allen Raab exemplified qualities that are characteristic of a true jack-of-all-trades. The fact that he was able to switch between different professions without any difficulty throughout his entire life is evidence of his adaptability and tenacity. Allen’s career path reflected his willingness to take on challenges and master a variety of skills. He worked as a truck driver, in the HVAC industry, as a gauger, and even demonstrated his culinary prowess as a skilled cook.

Beyond the pursuits he pursued in his professional life, Allen discovered happiness in a wide variety of hobbies that fueled his spirit. The freedom of riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and tinkering with vehicles were some of his favorite things to do out of all the things he enjoyed doing. These activities not only provided him with a sense of personal fulfillment, but they also served as outlets for his creative side and strengthened his connection to the natural world.
The Heart of a Family Man
It was in his roles as a father, son, and brother that Allen Raab’s true nature was allowed to shine through. After becoming well-known for his unflinching support and his willingness to assist others, he became a rock of support for those who were in his immediate vicinity. The Raab family was the most important thing in Allen’s life, whether it was providing direction to his daughter Maranda Raab or standing next to his father Howard Raab.
Cherished Relationships and Precious Memories
There are two brothers and their spouses who survive Allen: Frank and Tara Raab of Bandera and Mark and Jennifer Raab of Fredericksburg. Allen is also survived by his daughter Maranda Raab, who lives in San Antonio; his father Howard Raab, who lives in Freer; and his two brothers. Other members of his family, including his nieces and nephews, Daniel, Garrett, Jace, Ashley, Sara, and Emma, will carry on his legacy. Despite the fact that Allen’s death has left a hole in the world, his legacy will continue to live on in the form of the numerous memories and cherished relationships that he had with his family.
