Mark Starr Obituary, New York City Hunting Ridge Motors Inc. Personnel Has Passed Away – Death

On 8 July, Police Scotland issued a statement that sent ripples through the community: “Police are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing relatives of 53-year-old Mark David James Starr, who was found dead within the Glasgow Green area of Glasgow on 28 June 2019.” Mark, known to many as Humpy, had been homeless, sleeping rough in Glasgow’s oldest city park. While there were no suspicious circumstances, the cause of death remained undetermined.

Three weeks later, another appeal was issued. “Officers believe Mr Starr may have relatives in the Kent area, but have been unable to track down any family members despite a previous appeal on 8 July.” It was a tragic narrative, a tale too familiar – a homeless man passing away, seemingly alone, with no one to miss or mourn him.

Karen and Sue: Unveiling the Family Bond

In the heart of Ashford town center, we meet Karen and Sue, the hidden family Mark left behind. Karen, shy and withdrawn, contrasts with Sue, open and talkative. Even in their grief, laughter echoes through their recollections of the man they affectionately called Humpy. It was a nickname bestowed by Mark’s older brother, Tony, during his childhood. Mark earned the moniker for getting “the hump” whenever life threw a curveball. Losing a ball or catching nothing on a fishing trip – these were enough to send Mark into a brief sulk. Yet, true to his nature, he always came back, wearing his nickname with pride and even tattooing it on his arm.

As laughter intertwines with grief in Sue’s anecdotes, the essence of Humpy comes to life. His eccentricities and idiosyncrasies were as much a part of his identity as his nickname. These stories paint a vivid picture of a man who embraced life’s quirks, finding humor even in its darkest corners. Humpy, it seems, was more than a homeless man found in a park – he was a person with a rich history, etched with moments of joy, resilience, and undeniable uniqueness.

Tony’s Fond Memory and Humpy’s Tattoo

Tony, Mark’s older brother, left an indelible mark on Humpy’s life by coining the nickname that stuck throughout the years. Fond memories of sibling banter and shared experiences resonate in Tony’s recollections. Humpy’s tattoo, proudly displaying his beloved moniker, becomes a symbol of the familial bonds that endured through life’s trials. For Karen and Sue, the journey back to Humpy’s roots in Kent unveils both the challenges and the triumphs of reconnecting with family after such a tragic loss. As they navigate the complex tapestry of familial ties, they discover the importance of cherishing memories and acknowledging the impact one individual can have on the lives of those who knew him.
