Ethel Diane was born on June 7, 1940, in Rupert, Idaho, to Albert Feeman Southall and Afton Fay Dockstader. Alongside her older sister Keren, she spent her formative years in Rupert, where she forged lasting friendships and pursued her education. Graduating from Minico High School in 1958, Ethel Diane embarked on a journey filled with diverse experiences and accomplishments.
In her youth, Ethel Diane answered the call to serve her country, briefly joining the Navy before discovering her passion for music. A gifted pianist, she captivated audiences with her performances in New York, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft.
