Riley was born in Worcester and spent his formative years on Lincoln Street, surrounded by the love of his large family. He was one of sixteen children born to the late Richard F. and Marie Fiore Riley, Sr. From an early age, Fr. Riley exhibited a deep sense of compassion and a calling to serve others, qualities that would define his life’s work.
His achievements on the field were matched only by his dedication to his studies and his unwavering commitment to excellence. Fr. Riley furthered his education at Quinsigamond Community College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1982. He later pursued his passion for history at Assumption College, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
