 Otto was born in Kochlowice, Poland, in 1932, to Alfons and Maria (Klyta) Glowacz. His early years were marked by the shadows of World War II and the occupation of Poland. In 1952, Otto married the love of his life, Elizabeth Stepniewski. Together, with their two children, Lesley and Eva, they embarked on a journey of hope and opportunity. In 1963, they immigrated to the United States, drawn by the promise of a better future. In 1988, Otto found love once again when he married Jadwiga Maj. Their union brought joy and companionship, and together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter. Two cats, Siva and Michka, became cherished members of the family, witnessing the love that flourished within the walls of their Belmont Avenue residence.Â
Otto’s heart found joy in the delicious cooking and baking skills of Jadwiga. A self-appointed guardian of the oven, he took great pleasure in ensuring that the kolaczki, a Polish pastry, came out just right. The kitchen became a place of shared stories, laughter, and the aroma of culinary delights, embodying the essence of family togetherness.
