Born on November 9, 1973, Kasey passed away early Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Kasey’s journey, spanning 50 years, was marked by love, passion, and a spirit that radiated artistic freedom. She spent her final moments in hospice care at Jackson – Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. In her passing, she finds eternal peace with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial Celebration: Honoring Kasey’s Life

A Memorial Celebration of Kasey’s life has been scheduled for Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. The family, in honoring Kasey’s wishes, has chosen cremation. Following the memorial service, her cremains will find their resting place at the Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. 

Kasey was a proud graduate of Skyview Academy in Memphis, TN. Her dedication to education extended to her work with Tipton County schools, where she served as a teachers’ aide in speech therapy for several years. Her passion for nurturing young minds reflected her commitment to her community and the well-being of those around her.

How Did Kasey Hill Moore Die ?

Beyond her professional roles, Kasey’s heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her husband, Todd Moore of Covington, TN, and two daughters, Mystery and Journey Moore. Kasey’s parents, Mike and Kay Hill of Atoka, TN, were a source of strength and support throughout her life. Her younger sister, Kerry Ann Hill Cabrera, and a special sister-cousin, Lisa Conrad Hare, were part of the extended network of love that surrounded Kasey. Kasey’s friends affectionately described her as “artistic and free-spirited.” Her love for the arts was not just a facet of her personality but a defining feature that illuminated her journey. Whether it was expressed through visual arts, music, or the poetry of life, Kasey’s spirit resonated with a unique creativity that left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

An Extended Family: Beyond Blood Ties

Kasey’s extended family was a testament to the rich tapestry of connections she cultivated throughout her life. She leaves behind two aunts, Pat Upchurch Fortner of Moody, TX, and Illa Mae Matlock of Brownsville, TN, as well as an uncle, Ray Droke of Jackson, TN. She was preceded in death by five aunts and three uncles, all of whom played significant roles in shaping her life. Her extended family further included Todd Moore’s mother, JoAnn Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law from the state of MS. Among those she leaves behind are cherished cousins, Troy Upchurch, Timothy Upchurch, Jordan Droke, Sonny Matlock, David Matlock, Tony Ballard, Chris Droke, Amanda Droke, Carol Hudson Ward, William Hudson, Verna Rhea Funderburk, and Mike Shelton.

Kasey was a favorite cousin to many, and her memory lives on through the tributes and remembrances of those who were closest to her. Whether it was the laughter shared with Troy Upchurch or the familial bonds with Amanda Droke, Kasey’s influence extended into the hearts of her relatives.
