Weslaco bids farewell to one of its esteemed residents, Mr. Federico Alfonso “Lico” Enriquez, who peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on June 21, 1932, in the quaint town of Ogle, Texas, Mr. Enriquez was the son of Mr. Gregorio Enriquez and Mrs. Maria Martina Lopez Enriquez. His journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering commitment to family.

A Family Man: Beyond the Horizon of Loss

The Weslaco community mourns the loss of a patriarch who has reunited with his loved ones beyond the veil. Mr. Enriquez was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Gregorio Enriquez and Mrs. Maria Martina Lopez Enriquez, as well as his children Maria Esther Elizondo and Enrique Enriquez. In addition, he was preceded by his son-in-laws, Joel Elizondo and Ruben Zamoral, his brother Ernesto Enriquez, and his sisters Margarita Enriquez Reyna and Consuelo Mena.

While grief may cast a shadow over these losses, it is essential to remember and celebrate the vibrant life Mr. Enriquez led. His legacy lives on through the memories and lessons he imparted to those fortunate enough to share his journey.

The solemn event is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home – Chapel of the Angels. A Holy Rosary, a symbol of comfort and prayer, will be recited at 7:00 pm, offering a collective moment of solace for friends and family.

On Monday, February 12, 2024, the Weslaco community will gather at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa to celebrate the Funeral Mass of Mr. Enriquez. Following the Funeral Mass, a procession will lead to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, where Mr. Federico Alfonso Enriquez will find his final resting place.
