It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Paula Marie Tollefson on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, at the age of 57. Paula’s journey on this earth was one filled with laughter, love, and remarkable strength, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to Irvin and Rony Tollefson on July 25, 1966, in Brainerd, Paula’s spirit and zest for life shone bright from an early age. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1984, marking the beginning of a life that would be characterized by resilience, creativity, and unwavering determination.

A celebration of Paula’s life will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather for 45 minutes prior to the service, coming together to share memories and support one another during this difficult time.
Paula’s versatility was truly one of her defining features. Whether it was crafting Christmas decorations, changing a car battery, or enchanting audiences with her acapella choir performances, Paula approached life with a can-do attitude that inspired those around her. Her culinary skills were second to none, and she could whip up mouthwatering meals in the kitchen, leaving everyone in awe of her talents.

A constant source of joy and support in Paula’s life was her best friend and longtime partner, Marcia. Their bond was a testament to enduring friendship and love. Marcia, with fond memories, recalls Paula’s unique wake-up call – the unmistakable voice of Reba McIntire singing “Amazing Grace” at top volume every morning.
Miranda Lampert, another cherished friend, would signal incoming calls with the equally vibrant tune of “Time to Get a Gun.” These lively moments captured the essence of Paula’s vibrant spirit. Paula’s love extended to many aspects of her life. She cherished her nephews, found solace and joy spending time on the lake, and had an unwavering passion for P!NK’s music. A true Minnesota Vikings fan, she could often be found passionately cheering for her team while draped in her favorite color, purple.

Her journey to recovery showcased her incredible strength and courage, inspiring others to persevere through life’s challenges with determination and grace.
