Born in Alliance on January 1, 1952, to Lewis and Patsy Leishman, David’s journey began in the heart of Ohio. He married Karen Scheufler Hershberger on October 19, 2007, and she survives him, a testament to the enduring love that defined their union.

David’s formative years led him through the halls of Claymont High School, where he graduated in 1970. A man of many talents, David showcased his musical prowess as a bass guitar player for several local bands, leaving a melodic imprint on the community. A dedicated professional, David’s career spanned various fields. From his early days working for Leishman Coal to becoming the owner of Camco from 1974-2005, his entrepreneurial spirit and hard work were evident.

Later, he retired from Long Hole Augering but remained active, working part-time at Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in New Philadelphia. He is survived by his children, Jeremy Leishman of Phoenix, Arizona, Dane Leishman of New Philadelphia, Alex Leishman of Akron, and Jessica Leishman of New Philadelphia. Additionally, he leaves behind two stepsons, Wesley Hershberger of Fresno and Jeffrey (Kearsten) Hershberger of Baltic.
