Carolina and furthered his studies by receiving his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He worked with the IBM Corporation, General Electric Company, Duke Power Company as a Law Clerk, an Intern at District Attorney’s Office in Forsyth County, North Carolina Prosecutorial District 21, Wachovia Corporation as a Law Clerk. For six years, Corey worked in the District Attorney’s Office for Alexander.

Davidson, Davie and Iredell Counties as Assistant District Attorney and was the first African American Assistant District Attorney for North Carolina Prosecutorial District 22. Attorney Buggs worked as an associate at Biesecker, Tripp, Sink & Fritts, LLP in Lexington until December 2006 when he opened The Law Offices of Corey D. Buggs, PLLC. Corey was a lifelong member of Files Chapel Baptist Church and served as a trustee, financial secretary, treasury of corporate board and former youth director.
