After starting her education at Galloway and Wittenberg, Sally worked as a nurse’s aide at Saint Michael’s Hospital, where she met Frank Meshak, with whom she was blessed to share 55 happy years of marriage until his death in 2016.

In her role as Bakery/Deli Manager at Copps East Side IGA, Sally showcased her renowned culinary talents. Being the eldest of twelve daughters, though, was the role that ultimately shaped her identity. Sally was a caring person who provided a loving home-cooked meal to anyone who needed it; she was also a master chef. The impact of her recipes can be felt in every household, far beyond the confines of the bar.

It was also noteworthy that Sally loved gardening and had a green thumb. She was an avid canner who preserved quarts upon quarts of vegetables every year. She loved being outside and could be found feeding birds, tending to her plants, and rescuing sick plants.
