Police investigate horror triple fatal Queensland crash as homicide

Police are investigating the horrible crash that killed three people in Queensland as a domestic violence homicide, and they are still keeping an eye on the lone survivor at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Rafferty Rolfe, 25, is being investigated for his involvement in the 4 a.m. incident with two other vehicles in the southbound lane of the Bruce Highway close to Federal, west of Noosa.

Rolfe was charged in relation to the alleged armed robbery of a white Isuzu MU-X that was involved in the crash. Hours after it was taken, the Isuzu was seen attempting to ram a silver Nissan Navara that was carrying Gypsy Satterley, 25, who police have confirmed was dating Rolfe.

Police are currently investigating whether the 65-year-old man who died while driving the car with Satterley was just an unidentified stranger picking her up. Police have not yet established that Rolfe was at the wheel of the Isuzu.

Jessica Townley, a 38-year-old alpaca farmer, was in the Great Wall ute when the Isuzu and Navara crossed the roadway. Townley, Satterley, and the 65-year-old man all died at the same time. “This is devastating for them and the first responders who have come to this location,” said detective inspector Ben Fadian.

Sadness comes from the fact that three people have already passed away, as well as the effects on their families. Rolfe is still being kept under police surveillance after being found “in the vicinity” of the Isuzu and being taken to the hospital with head injuries. Rolfe was familiar to the police, claims Fadian.

The Isuzu was allegedly taken from Young Street in Gympie 30 kilometers before to the crash. A man with a knife is reported to have approached Bec Alexander and her three children as they were getting into the car to leave the business and demanded the car. Before he went, she complied and took her kids out of the car. Alexander posted on Facebook, “I had three kids in the car and I was carjacked.” After a knife was pulled, I ran away with the kids, but my car was stolen! Everyone, please keep an eye out.

Police made an effort to catch up with the car, but it eluded them. After that, “that car was driving erratically,” Fadian continued. “Police heard about that from reports.” The Isuzu was next reliably spotted around the time of the fatal crash at 4 am on the Bruce Highway.

Today said that one witness had passed the collision as it was happening. In between the two different lanes, she recounted, “We just saw this car completely just squished up against the concrete.” Rolfe is charged with one count of armed robbery coupled with assault. He is scheduled to show up in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
