Fairmont, Minnesota was the location where Kathryn Lorraine Schultz was born on September 29, 1945.
Early Life and Education:
Her mother’s maiden name was Theobald, and her father’s name was Irvin Haertel. Fairmont’s St. John Vianney Catholic Church was the location of Kathy’s baptism, which took place on October 21, 1945. On March 22, 1959, she joined the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont, where Pastor O.F. Krause performed her confirmation. After completing her elementary schooling at Lincoln Elementary School, she moved on to St. Paul Lutheran School for grades four through eight. Kathy received her high school diploma from Fairmont in the year 1963.
Survived by Beloved Relatives:
On June 16, 1963, Kathy and Richard Schultz, who had been her classmate and sweetheart since elementary school, tied the knot and became husband and wife. They arrived in rural Granada, where the Schultz family farm was located, in 1972 after having lived in Fairmont for a period of nine years. The couple had been farming and working in Fairmont for seventeen years before they decided to make Fairmont their permanent residence once more. Kathy served as the secretary of St. Paul Lutheran Church from 1986 to June 2008, during which time she was a member of the congregation.
Physical Characteristics & Distinguishing Traits:
Her passion for gardening and tending to her flower beds was unwavering. In spite of the fact that her children expressed their displeasure verbally, the task was not completed until each and every weed was collected and each and every helicopter seed was eliminated. The activities that she enjoyed doing the most were going camping, playing games, taking sun baths, and preparing meals for her family.
Kathy’s family was the source of the greatest joy in her life. Richard, her spouse, was her daily companion and considered to be her closest friend. It was a constant reminder to the family that God actually brings people together in marriage, and their dedication to each other was a daily reminder of that.
An intricate web of interpersonal connections:
She took measures to ensure that her children were aware of and experienced her affection at all times. When the children arrived home from school, they would typically find chocolate chip cookies that had been freshly cooked and were waiting for them. They would then sit down and tell her about their day. She could not help but feel grateful for the gift of each grandchild. The smiles, hugs, and kisses that they gave her were her greatest gifts from them.
