Joyce Oium Obituary, Joyce Oium Has Passed Away – Death

With her devoted family by her side, Joyce D. Oium, age 81, went away in a calm and serene manner at the Serenity House in Tomah, Wisconsin. She was a resident of rural Sparta, Wisconsin. In Rush City, Minnesota, on January 8, 1943, Joyce Johnson was born to her parents, Carl Johnson and Juno (Falk) Johnson.

Immediately following her graduation from high school, she started working at 3M in Minneapolis. It was then that she discovered a handsome man who was employed in the flight tower at the airport. Move forward in time to the 16th of January in 1965, when Joyce and Calvin Oium tied the knot.

Prior to establishing a permanent residence outside of Sparta, Wisconsin, she and Calvin travelled frequently between the states of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin in search of employment opportunities. During the time that they were residing in Sparta, she worked in the dietary department of Rolling Hills Nursing home for a period of four years. Subsequently, she assumed the position of personnel clerk at Fort McCoy until she retired in June of 2004.

In addition to having a passion for flying, Joyce also took pleasure in travelling across the United States with her husband and their family. Not only that, but she would adore going fishing.

She offered her time to teach religion at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was also a member, and she worked with the ladies auxiliary department. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends was something that Joyce valued, and she will be missed by a great number of people.
