The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) stated that troopers were dispatched to the site of an accident that occurred at approximately six o’clock in the morning at the intersection of Highway 77 and Pickrell Road.

The accident involved two vehicles and was said to have occurred at the intersection. Pickrell Fire and Rescue personnel, in addition to deputies from the Gauge County Sheriff’s Office, were among the individuals who reacted to the emergency situation.

A pickup vehicle driven by Ethan Thies, 21, of Sterling, was travelling southbound on Highway 77 when it lost control while making an eastbound turn onto Pickrell Road. The pickup truck was travelling in the other direction. According to the initial findings of the inquiry, it appears that the driver of the pickup truck lost control of the vehicle while travelling under conditions that were considered to be difficult.

The sloppy road conditions caused the pickup vehicle to drive off the road and join the northbound lanes, where it collided with a semi-truck that was hauling propane. The pickup truck was involved in an accident. The impact of the collision caused both of the cars, the pickup truck and the semi-truck, to catch fire. Both of the vehicles have been destroyed.
