Investigations are currently being conducted by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office into a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a teenager from Aiken. Modoc Lane and Green Pond Road were the locations where the collision took place on Wednesday morning at 9:50 a.m.
The driver of a 2007 Mercury SUV was reportedly driving north on Green Pond Road when the car crossed the centre line, overcorrected, travelled off the right side of the road and collided with a tree. The authorities say this occurred when the vehicle was travelling north.
There was only one person inside the sport utility vehicle, and that was the driver. According to the information provided by the Coroner Darryl Ables, the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Emily Heath, who was 18 years old, was pronounced dead at the site. There will be a toxicology examination, according to the office of the coroner. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.
During the time of the accident, she was reportedly on her way to Aloha Aesthetics to participate in a work-study programme for phlebotomy.
This information was provided by a friend of the Heath family. In addition, the buddy informed us that Heath had already finished her certification as a lab technician and was making preparations to enrol in college in order to earn a degree in nursing. According to the statement that was given by Heath’s principal on Thursday morning, Heath was a senior at Silver Bluff High School.
