There is no doubt that the world of songwriting has been dealt a devastating blow by the passing of one of the most accomplished songwriters it has ever needed over its history.
To put that into perspective, however, he was a great deal more than that. In addition to being a friend, he was also a father and a spouse at the same time. He was a complete package.
The aspect of that relationship that I will miss the most is going to be the one in which I am able to receive a hug from him and hear him say “hey brother” anytime I see him out and about. When I arrived at Pioneer Tap House that evening, he had been singing for a substantial amount of time and was demanding a break from his performance.
He was requesting a change in the performance. During the time when he was taking a break, he called me and requested me to perform a couple of songs for him. After observing me while I was out in the crowd, he decided that he needed to take a rest first.
Regarding the memories I have with him, I believe that this particular one is the one that I cherish the most out of all of them. It would appear that there is not a large number of musicians who are going to make an effort to achieve it.
It is something that we lament that we were not able to spend more time together and attend more shows together. We would have loved to have that opportunity. Do your best to unwind. A. Parker, Shane Parker, and A.,
