Mr. Pericles “Perry” Kimonos, a beloved patriarch, peacefully went away on Friday, At the age of 80, January 26, 2024, with his family at his side. He came into this world in Koma tou Gailou, Cyprus, on August 25, 1943, the cherished offspring of Chrystallou and Kimo Kimonos.
Perry’s children, Chrystal (Paul) Kimonos-Quaranta and Vassillios (Bill) Kimonos (Kari), as well as his loving wife of 53 years, Anna Kimonos (née Katsiarou), pay tribute to him. Aaron Cristiano, Annaleza (Tyler) Geddes, Alexandra (Tanner) Perry, Loukas, Chloe, and Vassillios Jr. (Billy) are his grandchildren.
Stella and Leo, Perry’s great-grandchildren, are also part of his family tree. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and a loving brother to Voula, Sotiris (Nikki), and Vassillios (Georgia) Kimonos. When Perry was fourteen years old in 1958, he set off from Cyprus for Montreal, Canada. His upbringing set the stage for a life dedicated to his loved ones and a love of fine dining.
Established in 1980, Perry’s Place Family Restaurant became a cherished institution among Niagara Falls people, a reflection of his commitment and passion for the culinary arts. Before opening his own restaurant, Perry made his imprint on the Niagara Falls restaurant scene at spots like the Park Hotel, the Minolta Tower, Casa Toro, and Howard Johnson’s.
He was a master cook in more ways than one; for example, he worked as a chef on the famed Skylon Tower construction site. Visitation will be held at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St, Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 10 am to 12:30 pm. The Kimonos family invites friends and well-wishers to join them. On the same day, at 1:00 pm, in St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St, St. Catharines, Ontario, there will be a Trisagio/Thrice Holy Hymn Service followed by a Funeral Service.
There will be a burial and concluding Trisagio/Thrice Holy Hymn Service at Fairview Cemetery. Contributions to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church would be much appreciated by Perry’s family.
