Mr. Dennis Earl The 21st of January, 2024 was the day that George Maschmeyer, a well-known and well-liked man in Edmonton, Alberta, said his final goodbyes to the world. Those who knew him have been left with an everlasting impression on their hearts as a result of his life, which was characterised by unflinching dedication to family, community, and international endeavours.
Dennis was born on May 13th, 1939, to parents named George and Emma Maschmeyer. He spent his formative years in the village of Bruderheim, Alberta, which is known for its tight-knit community. Following his graduation from the University of Alberta with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Dennis set off on a journey that would ultimately come to define both his life and his professional life.
On the 29th of December in 1962, Dennis located Karol Anita (Lewis), who would later become his life partner. Together, they constructed a life that was founded on love and had the same principles. The couple made the decision to bring up their children on the Maschmeyer family farm in Bruderheim, where Dennis established himself as an active participant in a variety of community activities and organisations.
An unrivalled dedication to the improvement of the community was displayed by Dennis. Additionally, he contributed significantly to the construction of the Practice Readiness Centre at the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital, which was one of the many projects that he worked on and contributed numerous hours and resources to.
His influence extended to the field of education, and in appreciation of the enormous contributions he made, the museum that is housed within the Walker School of Bruderheim was renamed the Dennis Maschmeyer Museum. His effect extended much beyond the confines of Alberta, despite the fact that Dennis was a foundational member of the community in which he lived.
During the course of his illustrious career with Sherritt International Corporation, he travelled all over the world and met with prominent figures from around the world. It was through his meetings with influential people such as Fidel Castro and Ferdinand Marcos that he shown his capacity to transcend cultural divides and to promote cutting-edge technology and innovation to countries situated all over the world.
