Billy Foster Car Accident: Greenwich CT, 2 dead after being ejected from vehicles in I-95 crash in Fairfield

Tragedy struck late Thursday night on Interstate 95 in Fairfield, Connecticut, as a fatal crash unfolded involving two cars and a tractor-trailer, claiming the lives of William Foster, 75, of Bridgeport, and Fred Eugene Nimmon, 70, of Aspers, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred just before midnight on I-95 North, near Exit 22, according to Connecticut State Police.

William Foster was driving a Chevrolet Impala in the center lane when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle spun out of control, entered the median, and collided with a concrete jersey barrier.

The impact left the Impala disabled in the center lane of the three-lane highway. Tragically, a BMW 300 driven by a 32-year-old Virginia woman approached in the same center lane, colliding with the disabled Chevrolet.

The force of the impact ejected William Foster from his vehicle, hurling him onto the road. Subsequently, a tractor-trailer driven by Fred Eugene Nimmon struck the damaged Chevrolet, causing the truck to veer into the median and collide with the jersey barrier.

The collision resulted in Fred Nimmon being ejected from the tractor-trailer, landing in the median of I-95 South. Regrettably, both William Foster and Fred Eugene Nimmon were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The driver of the BMW, while enduring minor injuries, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for medical attention. The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad promptly responded to the scene to aid in the ongoing investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the factors contributing to the initial spin-out, remain under investigation as authorities work to piece together the sequence of events leading to this tragic incident on Interstate 95.
