Andrew “Andy” J. Ervin, who resided in Bourbonnais and was 46 years old, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 12, 2024. On November 15, 1977, he was born in Flint, Michigan. His parents, John and Brenda (Howay) Ervin, were his parents.
On January 6, 2017, Andy tied the knot with Sarah Burton in the town of Monticello. History was Andy’s field of expertise. It was from Eastern Michigan University that he received his Master of Arts degree in History.
His teaching experience includes stints at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Indiana, as well as Judah Christian Academy in Champaign. Andy had a passion for reading and history, and he was a voracious reader. He beamed with love for his wife and daughters.
Andy had a heart of service and was known for his kindness and gentleness. He never put himself ahead of other people. One of Andy’s affiliations was with the Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene group.
His wife, Sarah Ervin, of Bourbonnais, as well as his two daughters, Grace and Elyse, as well as his father, John Ervin, of Owosso, Michigan, and his brother, Robert Ervin, also of Owosso, Michigan, as well as his extended family, are among those who pass away. During the month of April in the year 2022, Andy’s mother, Brenda Ervin, passed away before him. Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1000 N. Entrance Ave., Kankakee 60901, will be the location of the visitation that will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11 a.m.
The burial will take place in Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee after the service. As the family desires, memorial contributions might be made. The Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais is in charge of the arrangements. For more information, call 815.932.1214.
