Former Sabine Parish Sheriff Deputy Larry Lee has passed away, according to a somber statement issued by the Many, Louisiana, office of the Sabine Parish Sheriff Aaron Mitchell.
Larry, a veteran of the police force, died away this week, leaving behind a service legacy that will live on in the memories of his friends and family. From 2004 to 2012, Larry devoted more than seven years of his life to serving as a patrol deputy for the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office.
He continued his career of hard work and devotion to public safety while serving with the Florien Police Department, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining the law. Larry made significant contributions to law enforcement, but he was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a hero for his unfaltering bravery in Vietnam. His dedication to serving his country in the Marine Corps demonstrated his love for American values and freedoms.
At this most trying time, the entire Sheriff’s Office, including Sheriff Mitchell, sends our deepest sympathies and prayers to Larry’s grieving loved ones. A life lived with dignity and honor, Larry dedicated himself selflessly to serving his country and his community.
Funeral arrangements for Larry Lee are still in the works, but when they do take place, they will provide the community a chance to gather and remember a man who lived his life upholding the values of service and justice.
Sheriff Mitchell paid tribute to Larry by remembering him as a “great guy who loved our nation” and by recognizing the significant impact he had as an officer of the law. Despite the community’s grief over Larry Lee’s passing, the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office and the people he valiantly served will always remember the hero he was. You can relax, Marine.
