Bonson P. Herrington, who resided in Wrightsville and was 83 years old at the time of his dying on Saturday, June 16, 2012, had been suffering an illness for a considerable length of time prior to his passing. He had been battling this ailment for a considerable amount of time.

His wife of 62 years, Sue Taylor Herrington, who lives in Wrightsville; his daughters, Bonnie (Ray) Canova of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Jennie (Phillip) Boatright of Wrightsville; his grandchildren, Brandi (Brent) Johnson of Wrightsville and Phil (Margaret) Boatright of Wrightsville; and his great-grandchildren, Sydney Johnson, Colby Johnson, and Greer Boatright, all of Wrightsville; and his great-great-grandchildren will be among those who survive him.
