We are saddened to inform you of the demise of our well loved former Lady Captain, Jan Nattress. It is with heavy hearts and great grief that we make this announcement. During this trying time, we want her family and friends to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. Jan’s loss has created a vacuum that can never be filled.
Jan Nattress was more than simply a former Lady Captain; she was a tower of strength, a source of inspiration, and a beloved friend to many people in our community. She passed away recently. Her unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for the game, combined with her friendly and outgoing attitude, left a lasting impression on each and every individual who had the honour of getting to know her.
In the process of coming to grips with this enormous loss, we are reminded of the innumerable memories and moments that Jan brought to our club and to the lives of those who were fortunate enough to be in her presence. Her legacy is not limited to the golf field; rather, it stretches well beyond the course and into the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of spending time in her company.
The club will be having a memorial event to celebrate Jan’s life and memorialise the influence she had on our community. This is in acknowledgment of the vital contributions that Jan made to our community after her passing. For the purpose of paying tribute to and remembering this amazing woman, the specifics of the funeral arrangements will be shared at the appropriate time. This will enable friends, family, and fellow club members to come together.
The only thing that could compare to Jan’s dedication to the sport of golf was her dedication to building a sense of camaraderie and friendship among our members when it came to the sport. Her effervescent excitement and unflinching support for the club contributed to the establishment of an atmosphere in which all individuals, regardless of their level of expertise or background, were made to feel equally welcome.
In the wake of this tragic announcement, it is essential for us to rely on one another for support and assistance. The process of grieving is intensely personal, and as a community, we have a responsibility to join together in order to pay tribute to Jan’s memory and offer solace to those who are being affected by her passing.
