Not only was Adam Tebben an outstanding nurse, but he was also an outstanding leader and a very remarkable individual who possessed the most beautiful grin that was always present. During the most severe phase of the pandemic, he served as one of our emergency department charge nurses, and he was constantly advocating for both his patients and his team.
It was typical for me to have to search for them whenever I went to the emergency department because he was never just sitting at the charge station; rather, he was always out helping his team.
You could always rely on him to be there for you. I felt a great deal of sadness when he left Wesley, a great deal of excitement for him when he was offered the dream job of being a flight nurse, and a great deal of devastation when I learned that his flight had crashed this past weekend. He done a great deal of good in the world, particularly for residents of Kansas and for nursing. During this time of mourning, I am praying for his family and for the entire community that he lived in.
Lifeteam for Air Evacuation: I would want to express my gratitude to you for the love and support that you have shown to the Air Evac family during this challenging time. On the evening of January 20, three of our coworkers, Pilot Russell Haslam, Flight Nurse Adam Tebben, and Medic Steven FitzGerald, were killed in an accident that occurred in the air. It is with a very heavy heart that we share this news with you. I ask that you continue to keep each and every one of their families in your thoughts.
We cannot express how much we miss you, Russell, Adam, and Steven. Let us handle everything from here on out. I was saddened to find that the pilot who was killed in the accident in Oklahoma was a fellow Night Stalker named Rus Haslam.

Baker University, Chase County Junior Senior High School, and Emporia State University were all places of education that Adam Tebbenn attended and graduated from. He worked as a Flight Nurse. Although he was originally from Emporia, Kansas, he made his home in Wichita, Kansas now.
