Mr. Morris, who was 79 years old at the time of his death, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019, at his residence, following a brief struggle with illness. Before he was born on June 5, 1939 in Bay City, both of his parents, Thomas Morris and Margaret (Reyers) Morris, had already passed away the previous year.
He had retired from General Motors after having worked at a number of the Saginaw Plants up until the time of his retirement. In addition to being a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, he had also retired from these plants.
During the winters that he spent in Zephyr Hills, Florida, he took great pleasure in a variety of hobbies, including but not limited to touring, shooting, and fishing in particular, as well as playing cards and making enjoyable of his grandchildren.
His children Marlene Morris and Joe Reder Jr., Charlene Morris and David Lauzon Jr., and Wayne Morris are among those who are left behind. He is also survived by his grandchildren Chris and Crystal, Kellie and Tony, Victoria and Sam.
Adam and Sheila, Kurt Jordon and Melissa, Amber and Corey, and Francis and Lynn; his sixteen great-grandchildren; his siblings Carol Thomas, Audrey Schmidt, Harry “Butch” and Linda Morris, and Gary and Linda Morris; and a large number of nieces and nephews whom he cherished greatly as grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bressette, his daughter Darlene Morris, his twin brother Paul Morris, Florence Vischer, Tom Morris, Jack Morris, Dickie Morris, and Mary Ann Pickvet. His twin brother Paul Morris also went away before him. He was the only member of his family to have survived to this day.
