Steve Schleicher Death Watertown WI, Teacher at WHS Has Did – Death

 At his residence on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, Melvin “Steve” Schleicher, who was 66 years old and a resident of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, passed suddenly. Steve was born on December 18, 1950 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was the son of Doris (Burns), Robert A. Fischer, and Melvin A. Schleicher, all of whom passed away before his birth. Steve was a veteran of the United States Army who served his country with honour while he was in the military.

Following a tour of duty that lasted for two years in the Army, Steve reenlisted in the Army Reserves and eventually retired as a Master Sergeant after more than twenty years of loyal service. In addition, Steve worked as a supply clerk for the federal government, where he was officially employed as a member of the civil service. He was usually out and about performing errands, and he enjoyed hunting and collecting anything that grabbed his eye.

He was always on the go. Having the opportunity to spend time with his family, particularly with his cherished grandson Mason, was the source of his greatest happiness. Everyone who knew and loved Steve will grievously miss him after his passing.

He is survived by his devoted children, Sarah (Jason) Leonard of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, and Steve Pate of Largo, Florida; his devoted grandchildren, Mason Leonard of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; his special friend.

Martha Johnson of Belleville, Illinois; his dear sisters, Rose E. Grosenheider of Mt. Olive, Illinois, Debbie Rahn, and Diane DeHart; his cherished black lab and partner in crime, Jake; his friends from Uncle Linny’s breakfast gang; extended family and a large number of friends from all over the world.

There will be a visitation on Monday, May 29, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 8:00 p.m. at the Irwin Chapel, which is located at 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Illinois.
