Joyce Keenan passed away at the age of 78 years old. Children Brad (Ginger), Paul, and Andrea (Mark), as well as great-grandchild Cassandra, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends, will remember him with affection. “Joy” was born in the United Kingdom during the war. She was a child when she went to Canada, and she moved to Ontario, where she remained for several decades.
It was in Ontario that she brought up her three children, as well as just about everyone else. She lived in the state of Washington for a period of twelve years before moving back to Canada, this time to British Columbia, in order to be closer to her family.
During her professional career, Joy worked as a project manager, and she was responsible for managing projects for significant clients such as Boeing and Washington Mutual bank. In the midst of the mayhem was where she found the most joy.
Her presence brought a sense of serenity to the midst of the chaos. When she was with the dozens of children who walked through her door, she was just like that.
At times, she would provide words of wisdom, she would never pass judgement, and if you were fortunate, she would make you a quilt or a prom dress. Joy has left a tremendous void in the hearts of everyone she has made an impact on.
Her departure will be felt by a great number of people, who will miss her love, support, and advice. The family will hold a private memorial service on March 18, 2023, to celebrate the life of the deceased.
Do not send flowers; instead, please consider making a donation in Joy’s honour to either Diabetes Canada or Flirting with Fido, which is a dog rescue organisation. There are links available in the “Donations” tab that is located above.
