This is Tom’s oldest son, Bob, writing with a heavy heart to share the news of my father’s passing. Thomas William Madsen left us in the early hours of January 19th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories. Thomas, or Tom as he was affectionately known, was born on July 5th, 1950, in the small town of Evergreen. He grew up with a spirit of adventure and a deep love for his family. Throughout his life, Tom exhibited a remarkable blend of strength, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Tom’s journey through life was marked by significant achievements and a tireless dedication to his passions. As a young man, he excelled academically, earning a degree in engineering from the esteemed Evergreen University. His professional journey took him to new heights, and he became a respected figure in the field, earning accolades for his innovative contributions.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was a family man through and through. His marriage to his beloved wife, Mary, was a testament to enduring love, spanning over four decades. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, raising three children—Bob, Emily, and Michael. Tom’s devotion to his family was evident in the small, everyday moments and the grand celebrations that marked their lives.
Tom had a heart as expansive as his laughter, and his kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a pillar of support, offering guidance and a comforting presence in times of need. His friends and family often sought solace in his wisdom, and Tom’s ability to find humor even in the darkest moments brought light to many lives. In his leisure, Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
