In the quiet town of Komani, a community is grappling with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a beloved member, Elijah Ignatius Simons. The four-month-old infant, who resided at 25 Hermanus Street, Victoria Park, left this world unexpectedly on Monday, the 15th of January 2024. Though his time on earth was short, Elijah managed to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Elijah’s passing has cast a somber shadow over his grieving parents, Geralize and Eswin, who now find themselves navigating the difficult journey of mourning the loss of their precious child. The Simons family is further devastated by the unexpected departure of their little one, and their pain is shared by Elijah’s grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

To honor and bid farewell to Elijah, a memorial service will be held at the St Theresa of Lisieux Catholic Church in Komani at 9 o’clock on Saturday, the 20th of January 2024. This service will serve as an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to come together, share their memories, and find solace in each other’s company.
Following the service, the interment will take place at the Komani Town Cemetery at 10 o’clock, where Elijah will find his final resting place. The act of laying a loved one to rest is a poignant moment, and the community will gather to offer their final goodbyes and support to the Simons family during this solemn occasion.
