Kathie Whitson, along with her sons Wesleigh Whitson and Collin Shafer, informs you of the passing of their cherished husband and father, Scott Whitson, and his subsequent resurrection into eternal life with Jesus, who is their Lord, Saviour, and Redeemer. Scott, who was 52 years old, passed away after a courageous lifetime of battling several health conditions. Scott, a guy of high integrity and simple faith, tackled each day that was given to him with courage and perseverance in order to survive another day and be with the people he loved and treasured. His indelible imprint of love is left with his dearest wife Kathie Whitson, with whom he was married for 33 years; their sons Wesleigh “Wes” Whitson (Groton.
Connecticut) and Collin Shafer (Winston, Oregon); his in-laws, Dick and Susan Sterling (Enfield, Connecticut); his siblings Diane and Lynn Poplett (Pekin, Illinois), Dorothy and David Faulkner (Athens, Ohio), Tom and Sue Whitson (Niota, South Carolina), Kevin and Vicki Whitson (Inman, South Carolina), Flora Robbins (Missouri), Jim Whitson (Joliet, Illinois), and Marilyn Fish (Indianapolis, Indiana); his in-laws Rick and Tracey Sterling (East Longmeadow, Massachusetts).
Jenn and David Chase (Enfield, Connecticut); and Dan and Loren Sterling (Fairfield, Connecticut); and the numerous nieces and nephews who have the pleasure of calling him Uncle Scott. In addition to being confirmed in his religion at Appanoose religion Presbyterian and graduating from Nauvoo/Colussa High School, Scott Whitson was born on May 28, 1968, in Niota, Illinois. His parents, Walter and Margaret Whitson, spent his childhood there.
In order to fulfil his ambitions of acting and directing in the theatre, Scott enrolled at Sterling College in Kansas. It was at this location that he and Kathie first became acquainted with one another and started their lives together.
Following the completion of their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre degree, they resided in a variety of locations before settling down in Macomb, Illinois.
