Clayton Cunliffe Obituary New Lenox Illinois, Clayton Cunliffe Has Died – Death

This past Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Clayton, who was 77 years old and lived in Springfield, Georgia, passed away. James Clayton, who was born on September 26, 1946 in Savannah, Georgia, was affectionately referred to as Jim or Jimmy. His parents were Carl and Carrie Clayton.

After receiving his diploma from Savannah High School in 1964, Jimmy continued his education at the University of Georgia, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism six years later, in 1969. Jimmy had a deep passion for sports and anything linked to them.

After working as a sports broadcaster for a number of years for local television stations in Savannah, he eventually transitioned into the field of advertising sales.

The years that he spent working in the television industry gave him the opportunity to go to a number of states across the country, visit well-known sporting facilities, and do interviews with a great number of sports legends. Even after he retired, the friends he had established throughout those years continued to be loyal to him and fond of him.

This was especially true of his close friend Rick Snow, who Jimmy referred to as his “faithful companion” during the time that he was hospitalised for such a long period of time. Because Georgia sports, particularly football, were the primary focus of Jimmy’s chats, it was common knowledge that he was a devoted supporter of the University of Georgia. His pastime consisted of going to and following any and all sporting activities that took place in Georgia.

Jimmy’s wife Patsy, with whom he had been married for 54 years, and his two children, Jamie (who is married to Karla) and Keri (who is married to Scott), as well as his five grandchildren, Kayden (17), Samuel (12), Kinsley (11), Sydney (10), and Keegan (9), are among those who survive him.

Furthermore, he is survived by his sister Scarlett Thayer, a large number of nieces and nephews, as well as Ronnie and Cherry Harden, who were his closest travelling companions and Bulldog companions.
