Cosy Hall Obituary, Cosy Hall Has Passed Away – Death

An announcement was made not too long ago that Susan Miles MBE, who had been the President of Cosy Hall as well as the Founder of the organisation, had gone away. Upon learning of her passing, the Trustees of Cosy Hall have conveyed their most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

In 1976, Sue and a friend recognised the abandoned building that was going to be demolished as a possible location for the village of Newport.

Additionally, the structure was due to be demolished. This was the year that the structure was scheduled to be taken down and destroyed.

In the past, the structure had been known as the Cosy Hall music hall, and Sue’s father had served as the manager of the company during that period of time. An official protest against the demolition of the building as well as a petition in support of the building’s preservation were both presented in the month of May in the year 1979.

These two activities were done in protest to the demolition that was going to take place. Sue was the driving force behind the project, and she was also a significant contributor to the completion of the transformation of the community hall into the contemporary structure that we have today. Sue was the one who was the primary impetus behind the attempt.

We owe her a great deal of thanks for a variety of reasons, including her relentless drive, lobbying efforts, fund-raising efforts, hands-on attitude, and her ability to lead the group of volunteers in order to make her dream a reality. We are indebted to her for all of these reasons. For our generation, the legacy that Cosy Hall has left behind is very remarkable.
