Rosedale, LA, mourns the loss of a local legend as Morris Trosclair, Jr., affectionately known as “Plucker,” passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the age of 85. A life-long resident of this close-knit community, Plucker’s legacy is etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, we celebrate the rich tapestry of a life well-lived.

Plucker is survived by his devoted sister, Lydia Rose Brown, and nieces and nephews, Alicia Warner, Ebony Emery, Maurice, and Roman Trosclair, Sr. His presence in the lives of his family extended beyond blood ties, creating a network of love and support that defined his role as a cherished member of the community. In the collective grief felt by his loved ones, we find solace in the memories of a life that touched many.

Preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Morris Trosclair, Sr., and his twin brother, Horace “Shot” Trosclair, Plucker’s passing marks the end of an era for Rosedale. Yet, the echoes of his laughter, the wisdom he shared, and the indomitable spirit that defined him continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him family and friend.

A visitation to celebrate Plucker’s life will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm at A. Wesley Funeral Home, located at 10810 Ventress Drive, Maringouin, LA, 70757. This gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to come together, share stories, and find comfort in the shared bond of grief and love.

The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 76940 Gum Street, Grosse Tete, LA. Father Frank Utter will officiate the service, guiding the community through a ceremony that pays tribute to the life and legacy of Morris Trosclair, Jr. The church cemetery will serve as his final resting place, a serene spot where his memory will be honored for generations to come.

Plucker’s presence in Rosedale extended far beyond his immediate family. He was a familiar face, a pillar of the community whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Whether lending a helping hand or sharing a lighthearted moment, he was an integral part of the tapestry that makes Rosedale a tight-knit and supportive community.

His wisdom, gained through a lifetime of experiences, served as a guiding light for younger generations, fostering a sense of unity and community pride.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Plucker for the warmth of his smile, the strength of his character, and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. His impact on Rosedale is immeasurable, and the void left by his passing is a testament to the profound influence he had on the lives of those he touched.
