Born on May 6, 1938, in Conway Springs, Kansas, John was the son of Merle C. and Margaret Perkins Trollope. His roots ran deep in the Kansas soil, and the values instilled in him during his early years shaped the man he would become. These foundational years laid the groundwork for a life of service, faith, and dedication to family and community.
A Proud Resident of Kingman
John made Kingman his home, becoming a fixture in the community that he dearly loved. For years, he worked as a press operator for Don Dye Co., contributing his skills to the local industry. His commitment to hard work and dedication was evident in every task he undertook, and his work ethic became an inspiration to many. John’s spiritual journey led him to the Kingman First Baptist Church, where he not only attended but also actively served. His presence and contributions were a testament to his deep faith and commitment to his spiritual community. Prior to his involvement with the church, John dedicated years of service to the Kingman County Historical Society, where his passion for preserving the local history shone brightly.
A Love Story That Transcends Time
On June 1, 1962, John embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship as he married Mary Besore in Anthony, Kansas. Together, they built a family and shared the joys and challenges that life brought their way. The bond they forged became a cornerstone of John’s life, and even after Mary’s passing on September 25, 2012, the love they shared continued to be a guiding light in his heart. John’s legacy extends beyond his personal achievements; it is deeply woven into the lives of his surviving family members. He is remembered by his sons Ron (Theresa), Mark (Christy), Lyman, and Don (Virginia) Dimitt. His memory lives on through his brother Lyman and sister Iona (Richard) Easter. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 11 and 12 respectively, carry forth the warmth and love he showered upon them.
A Time to Remember and Honor
In tribute to John C. Trollope, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kingman First Baptist Church. The community is invited to join in this time of reflection, remembrance, and celebration of a life well-lived. While John’s earthly remains will find their resting place in the Walnut Hill Cemetery at a later date, his spirit has already found its eternal home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to Kingman First Baptist Church, Rivercross Hospice, or Prairie Sunset Home.
