At two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST, funeral services will be held for Peggy Voyles Wilbanks, who was 79 years old and lived in Corinth. Her burial will take place in Henry Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Magnolia Funeral Home- EAST on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. or later.
Father Josh Shipman will preside over the ceremony as the officiant. Milton Sandy, Jerry Nixon, Tommy Irwin, Michael Voyles, Johnny Young, J. B. Darnell, and Kevin Voyles will serve as pallbearers during the funeral service tomorrow. G. B. and Shirley Rast Voyles, who have now passed away, gave birth to him on January 10, 1944 in Corinth.
Peggy spent her childhood in Corinth, and she attended Corinth High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1962. She was raised in a house with three brothers. During the subsequent 35 years, Peggy relocated from Corinth to Jackson, Mississippi, in order to raise her family. In her lifetime, she held positions in the fields of teaching, fashion consulting, and real estate, among other occupations.
During her free time, she delighted in enjoying activities such as singing, singing in the great outdoors, trading in antiques, and hosting dinner parties for her friends. To spend her dying years with her family and friends, Peggy relocated back to Corinth, where she had previously lived. Her affiliation with Father Josh Shipman was with the St. Paul Episcopal Church, where she was a member.
There were complications associated with Peggy’s illness, which ultimately led to her passing on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. Peggy is survived by her brother, Johnny B. Voyles; her grandson, Joshua Johnson; her great-granddaughter, Sayd Johnson; her nephews, Michael Voyles, Kevin Voyles, and Jason Voyles; her nieces, Jennifer Fountain and Caitlin Voyles; and a large number of other family and friends.
Her parents, G. B. and Shirley Rast Voyles, as well as her daughter, Tena Wooldridge, and her son, Todd Wilbanks, as well as her brothers, Bobby Voyles and Scotty Voyles, passed away before she did. Being able to provide services to the family of Peggy Voyles Wilbanks has been an honour for Magnolia Funeral Home.
