On January 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Mary Betty Singleton, age 90, of Burnsville, WV, passed away peacefully at home. Born on August 15, 1933, to Elmer Guy Scarborough and Nellie Clair Meadows Scarborough, Betty, as she was affectionately known, leaves behind a legacy marked by compassion, strength, and a heart of gold. Betty Singleton was undoubtedly one of a kind, a force of nature with a powerful personality that left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Betty Singleton is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Guy Scarborough and Nellie Clair Meadows Scarborough, and her husband of over 50 years, Robert “Bob” Singleton. Though she has left this world, Betty’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion lives on in the hearts of her surviving family.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Singleton, and wife Linda; grandchildren, Jessica Ball and husband Travis, Jennifer Bird and husband Ben; granddaughter, Lilly Ball; sister-in-law, Shirley Lloyd; niece, Linda Leggett and husband Rick, and nephew, Donald Conrad and wife Donna.
