Helen (Ellen) Kennedy Obituary, Death And Funeral Visitation Details

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a beloved soul, Helen (Ellen) Kennedy (née Begley) of Reaghstown, Ardee, Co. Louth. Peacefully, Helen departed this world at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda on Sunday, January 14th, 2024. Her departure leaves a void that can only be filled with cherished memories of a life well-lived. Helen is predeceased by her husband Sean, her parents Thomas and Shelia, brother Tom, and sister Sheila. Her journey in this world has come to an end, but the impact she made on the lives of those who knew her will endure through the annals of time. Helen’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and a profound connection to family and community.

Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her loving and devoted family: Caroline, Eileen, John, Lisa, Mark, Grace, and Niall. The bond she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchild was a testament to the warmth and love that radiated from her heart.

In the embrace of her family, Helen found the truest treasures of her life. Her surviving brother John, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbors, and friends all join in the collective grief of losing someone who held a special place in their hearts. Helen’s departure creates a void not only in her family but also in the broader community where her presence was felt as a source of comfort and kindness.

May Helen Rest in Peace, surrounded by the eternal serenity that awaits those who have lived their lives with love and grace. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant tapestry of a life well-lived, honoring the legacy she leaves behind.

To pay respects and bid farewell, Helen will repose at her daughter Eileen’s residence (Eircode A92 N4X6) on Tuesday, January 16th, from 4 pm to 8 pm. The house will be private on Wednesday morning.

The funeral proceedings will commence on Wednesday morning from Eileen’s residence to Helen’s home, arriving at 10:45 am. The funeral cortège will then proceed to St. Malachy’s Church in Reaghstown, where a solemn funeral Mass will take place at 11 am. Following the Mass, the final journey will lead to Reaghstown Cemetery, where Helen will find her eternal resting place.

In the midst of sorrow, let us find solace in the shared memories, the laughter, and the love that defined Helen’s presence. As we gather to celebrate her life, may we draw strength from the legacy she leaves behind, a legacy woven with the threads of love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family and community. Helen’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her, a guiding light in the tapestry of their lives.
