Since joining Susquehanna University in 2016, Pete Dadalt had become an integral part of our academic community. His impact extended far beyond the confines of Apfelbaum Hall, where his office was located, as he engaged with colleagues and students alike. Pete’s willingness to delve into discussions on a wide range of topics, from finance to current events, reflected his approachability and genuine interest in fostering meaningful connections.
At the core of Pete’s identity was a deep passion for finance and teaching. This passion radiated in every aspect of his professional life, whether he was in the classroom, holding office hours, or engaging in impromptu conversations in the hallways. Pete played a pivotal role in advancing our finance program at Susquehanna University. His commitment to excellence was evident in his efforts to establish the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Affiliation at the university, offering students a pathway to professional recognition in the finance industry. Pete also dedicated himself to mentoring students preparing for the CFA Level 1 exam, contributing to their academic and professional growth.
An exemplary leader, Pete led the university’s River Hawk Fund, where students actively managed an investment portfolio exceeding $200,000. Under his guidance, students gained invaluable real-world experience in financial management, preparing them for success beyond the university walls.
Pete’s mentorship extended beyond the classroom, as he invested time and energy in nurturing the next generation of finance professionals. Pete’s dedication to Susquehanna University extended to his involvement in various committees and leadership roles.
During the 2022–2023 academic year, he served as the faculty recording secretary, contributing to the university’s administrative and governance functions. His commitment to service underscored his belief in the importance of actively shaping the academic and institutional landscape.
