Barbara Ellen De Leon Obituary, Is Barbara Ellen De Leon Alive?

Barbara Ellen De Leon gently departed in Christ at the age of 70 on January 12, 2024, in Webster, Texas. She was born in Canton, Ohio on September 20, 1953, to Thomas Carroll Whipple, Jr. and Katherine Margaret (Lapitosky) Whipple. David E. De Leon, Dehlia K. De Leon (Barbara’s daughter), Steven Whipple, Thomas Whipple III, Tina, and several nieces and nephews are the surviving relatives of Barbara.

Margaret Knapp and Patricia Devore were her sisters; her parents had passed away before her. All of her siblings passed away before her. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Kent State University, Barbara assisted others in conquering their various obstacles. Subsequently, she was employed at a transitional residence. At the age of 23, she immersed herself in politics and eventually ascended to the role of office manager at the Stark County Democratic Party headquarters in Canton, Ohio.

She attended President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration event due to her invitation. Subsequently, she relocated to Texas and commenced employment with the state government, providing aid in the registration of individuals for many social welfare initiatives. She conducted numerous house visits. The birth of her daughter Dehlia compelled her to choose to be a stay-at-home parent and nurture her.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church assumes paramount importance in the lives of David, Barbara, and Dehlia, leading them all to join as members. She actively engaged in her daughter Dehlia’s extracurricular pursuits and took part in various events, such as working at the school library.

Subsequently, she resumed employment as a part-time pharmacy technician until her retirement. Subsequently, Barb offered her services to the Friends for Life shelter and provided temporary care for dogs in need as a foster parent. Barbara has often been admired for her empathetic disposition, gentle attitude, and steadfast commitment to her faith and loved ones.
