On January 13, 2024, Karen R. Keck, who resided in Coopersburg and was 88 years old, passed away when she was at home. According to her parents, Arthur and Aili (Louma) Ronberg, she was the eldest of their children and was born on November 22, 1935 in Negaunee, Michigan. After receiving her diploma from Coopersburg High School, she went on to spend the next 34 years working in the silicone wafer production factory of Western Electric, which would later become in&T Headquarters in Allentown.

After graduating from high school, Karen met Robert, who would later become her husband. They fell in love with each other and eventually got married in 1956.

They had been married for 67 years, and during that time, they were unable of being apart from one another. Karen was a formidable individual in the eyes of everyone who knew her. It was clear that she had a heart of gold because she was both compassionate and generous.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whether it was on vacations at the beach, during the holidays, or just being the biggest fan at her grandchildren’s sporting activities. She was a talented artist and a fantastic baker, but time spent with her family was where she found the most joy.

Her love for her family was unfathomable, and she will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Karen’s parents, her younger siblings Karyl and Arthur, and her only son Bobby all passed away before she did after her passing.

Karen is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters Cheryl Yuhasz (Steve) of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Elizabeth McDowell (John) of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Kellie Lees (Paul) of Allentown, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Jasent Holland, Mark Yuhasz, Benjamin Yuhasz, Alexander Lees, Meghan Lees, and Madisen McDowell; and her great-grandchildren Matthew and Ellie Holland.
