On Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024, Darlina Mae Norrie, who was 76 years old and lived on High Ridge Road, passed away at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab facility, where she had been a resident for the past two months. The daughter of Shirley Waldo and Marjorie Grace (Keach) Bunnell, who both passed away before Darlina’s birth on September 16, 1947, Darlina was born in Concord, Vermont.
She was born and reared in Concord, where she also received her education and graduated from high school in 1967. On February 19, 1967, Dolly tied the knot with Bradley P. Norrie, and the couple had been together for a total of 56 years when he passed away on June 7, 2023. She retired from Hitchner’s in Littleton in the early 2000s after having worked there for more than twenty years.
After that, she worked for a couple of years in the activities department at St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab following her retirement.
One of her favourite things to do was watch wrestling, and she had a passion for flowers, as seen by the flower gardens she maintained surrounding her house.
From her immediate family to her extended family, all the way down to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dolly’s affection was centred on her love for her family, and she never pulled that love from them. They were highly cherished, and each and every one of them will miss her terribly. She will be greatly missed.
Her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” of Concord, her brothers, Reginald Bunnell (and his wife Deborah) of Granby, Vermont, and Edward Bunnell (and his wife Janet) of Concord, Vermont, her three grandchildren, Scott Norrie (and his wife Samantha), Curtis Harris (and his wife Jessica), and Mark Harris (and his wife Jaydearielle), and her three great-grandchildren, Owen, Ashton, and Lily, as well as her close friends, Mike and Lois Blackburn and Lana Mitchell, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and great-niets and nephews.
