On Friday, January 12, 2024, Carl D. Wible, who resided in Franklin and was a well-known and long-time business owner in Franklin, passed away at the Rouse Home in Youngsville. He was 82 years old. It was on February 17, 1941 that he was born in Franklin. His parents, Richard W. Wible Sr. and Esther Perry Wible, both passed away before he was born. He received his diploma from Franklin High School in the year 1958.
In the course of the Vietnam War, Carl was a member of the United States Army and served his country. From 1963 until 1965, he was a member of the 1st Infantry Division, also known as the “Big Red One.” During his time in Vietnam, he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge as well as Letters of Commendation.
Carl was involved with a number of prosperous enterprises throughout the course of his career, but the fact that he established FrenchCreek Production is the one that brought him the greatest notoriety. The FrenchCreek Producing Company is responsible for the production of fall prevention and rescue equipment that is sold all around the world.
His involvement in the Franklin community was extensive, as seen by his participation on the Applefest Core Committee and his role as a co-founder of the Franklin Blues and BBQ Festival. There were a great number of boards in the community that Carl served on, and he was always prepared to provide a helping hand whenever it was required.
Spending time with his grandchildren was the most important thing in Carl’s life, but he also enjoyed going to hunting camp, spending the winter in Florida, and travelling to Florida. His enthusiasm for muscle vehicles was so strong that he could name each and every vehicle he had acquired over the course of his life. Despite this, he never missed an occasion to test out a brand-new vehicle either. There was a marriage between him and Mildred A. “Millie” Daniels, which took place on August 22, 1964. She passed away before him on May 1, 2015.
During their fifty years of travelling together, they made friends wherever they went and shared new experiences. Jason Wible and his wife Rhonda, who reside in Franklin, and Regan Olsen and her husband Trevor, who reside in Warren, are the only surviving members of the family. Additionally, there are four grandchildren, Carson Wible, Alex Wible, Lincoln Olsen, and Carly Olsen, as well as one “honorary” grandchild, Sydney Watts, and a number of nieces and nephews remaining.
