It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Susan Marie “Sue” Mesner Waszak, a beloved member of our community, on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the age of 64. Sue left us at home, succumbing to natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and achievement that touched the lives of many.
Sue’s journey began on June 4, 1959, in Sandusky, Ohio, where she was born to John and Margaret Mesner. She embarked on a path of academic excellence, earning her two-year Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing, as well as a JD from the University of Toledo College of Law. Sue’s pursuit of knowledge exemplified her commitment to making a difference in the world.
In the early years of her career, Sue dedicated herself to the field of nursing, practicing and teaching in her hometown of Sandusky. Her passion for healthcare and education resonated with those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the community.
Later in life, Sue transitioned into the legal profession, practicing law in Toledo testament to her versatility and determination. Sue’s impact extended beyond her professional accomplishments; she was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for others.
