On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the community of Hartford mourned the loss of a beloved member, Karen Ruth Taylor Funk, aged 63. Karen passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love and memories she had accumulated throughout her life.
Born in Owensboro to Nancy Wedding Taylor and the late Donald Taylor, Karen’s life was marked by her resilience, dedication, and a deep sense of love for her family and friends.
Her legacy is not only in the work she did but also in the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Karen dedicated a significant portion of her life to her career as a manager at Long John Silver’s in Beaver Dam. Her commitment and passion for her work were evident to all who knew her. Karen not only excelled in her professional life but also created a warm and inviting atmosphere for both customers and her colleagues.
One of Karen’s great joys in life was her love for the beach. The calming sound of waves, the feel of sand beneath her feet, and the endless horizon brought her a sense of peace and happiness. Her fondness for the beach reflected in the way she approached life – with a positive spirit and an appreciation for the simple joys.
However, what truly defined Karen’s world were her children, Christopher and Katy. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing and supportive environment for their growth.
Whether it was cheering them on at sports events, attending school functions, or simply spending quality time together, Karen cherished every moment with her children.
